About Gonchigkhand Byambaa
Gonchigkhand Byambaa is a Mongolian nomad, community activist, and human rights advocate dedicated to building bridges between migrant communities and Irish society. With over 15 years of experience in equality and community development across Mongolia and Ireland, her work centres on empowering individuals to move from isolation to full participation and belonging.
Since arriving in Ireland in 2016, Gonchigkhand has founded Irland Ornoor Grassroot Volunteer Club, supporting Mongolian families and families with disabilities through information, advocacy, and cultural connection. She is also a co-initiator of the We Are Here Too campaign, raising awareness of domestic and gender-based violence within migrant communities, and a STAND anti-racism trainer promoting civic engagement and representation.
Currently pursuing a Master’s in Community and Youth Work at Maynooth University, Gonchigkhand is a founding member of Asian & Irish Community Connect CLG, an organisation created to celebrate dual identities, amplify Asian voices, and foster solidarity through diversity in Ireland.
Rooted in nomadic values of resilience, hospitality, and community, her mission is simple: to create spaces where every culture feels seen, heard, and at home.
